Ralph’s wife Martha died of a fatal accident on the front porch, while painting portraits of their children. Devastated, he confined himself to the house.

Ralph set the portraits around the living room. He observed them and noticed that they faded after each of Martha’s death-day anniversaries. Concerned that they may be tied to his children’s lives, he called each of his children, but they never answered.
Twenty years later, Ralph was concerned with the portraits fading away forever. He wondered if they did, would his children’s lives be taken too. He ventured out of the house to purchase a camera, in hopes that a photo may be an adequate substitute.
Long after sunset, while Ralph was taking photos, the lights went out.
He had visitors. He had forgotten their pasts.

In time, it all Fades Away…
