We are Exo-Galactic, and descendants of the few survivors of Nine Worlds. The location of our star system is lost in legend. We know it is somewhere close to the edge of the Void – a billion light years of nothingness, far from this Galaxy we know as the Milky Way.
We had only ever known peace and harmony, until one day out of a clear blue sky the Darkness fell without warning. That’s what we called them, those strange beings that brought destruction. They came from deep within the Void, and needed no light to survive – but drew strength from emptiness.
They razed our lands with hot winds and fire, so that when the Cerans mighty Battle Fleet appeared in the skies above, most of our ancestors had gone –crossed the river, as they called it.
The brave Cerans had decided to attack first – before the Darkness came for their own lands. At first they were outmatched, and didn’t understand the adversary, but they learned the hard way.
The legends say that when it was over, the Darkness just disappeared; but not before they had brought their chaos and destruction to the Ceran Home Worlds, leaving them not much better than our own….
We Exos - as the Cerans named us - were survivors of the destruction of Nine Worlds. The Cerans brought our ancestors back, and we have lived among them ever since as companions.
We are equals in the struggle, and our time has come. We need to be strong. No one knows when the Darkness will return. Maybe there is always darkness, somewhere….
The secrets of Hyperdrive were lost, and so far no one has managed to reinvent it. So we Exos will start with the First Rocket; one we build for ourselves.
