Parents faced the very real prospect of unemployment and dramatic wage cuts with little or no time for their children as they tried to supplement their income. Walt Disney believed his Mickey Mouse Clubs now had a deep responsibility to teach these young children life lessons: moral values, honesty, intergrity, compassion and patriotism.
