The Lover
After breaking up with his girlfriend, a young American escapes to Mexico City to drink away his hurt. His visit, however, gets complicated after he becomes romantically involved with a prostitute.

The Horror
But it's not until he accidentally meets two dark-minded gringos that his life takes a serious turn for the worse. Curious about the ancient Teotihuacan pyramids outside the city and the meaning behind the name: "where man met the gods", the three set off on a reckless, drug-fueled adventure into a world that goes terribly wrong. When one of their companions vanishes and is presumed dead, the other two men set out to punish the brujo (witch) that they blame for causing his demise.

The Trap
Decades later, the two survivors are mysteriously summoned back to Mexico by the companion they believed was dead, only to discover that there are endings worse than death -- where ancient sorcery still rules -- a fate South of Noir.

South of Noir is the length of a short story (approximately 10,400 words).
