The quirky heroine, Marie Fitzroy, is a descendant of the widow―a twenty-three-year-old visionary artist and harpist. She has supernatural encounters with an angel named Zoe and lucid dreams about the man she is destined to marry. In addition to her sassy personality, she possesses a hasty judgmental disposition and is hesitant to embrace love.

Josh Ryan is the strong masculine Messiah figure, employed as an architect in his family firm. His passionate desire to win Marie’s heart has met rejection for most of his life. Overcoming all obstacles, he patiently pursues Marie while attempting to convince her to consider a new perspective to her close-minded interpretations of her experiences.
