SHARLA GRAY, a motivational speaker in her forties, has made a successful life for herself after her husband betrays her with another woman. She's decided that love is not in her future because all men her age have emotional baggage. Their romance, laughter and lust for each other heats up fast in this romantic comedy. He's funny and sweet. She's never met anyone like him, but they disagree on many issues. She loves animals, he doesn't. Her dog Maxie, a Schnoodle, is loved by everyone except Brent and the dog seems to think that Brent is usurping his place in Sharla's heart and reacts accordingly. She has some wacky friends that dabble in astrology and card reading that she thinks is a harmless pastime. He thinks it's the work of the devil. Still they can't leave each other alone in or out of bed.
Sharla believes they can work things out until she discovers the secret he's been keeping. Another act of betrayal from the man she loves sends her into a downward spiral of distrust for any man. She thinks Brent's explanation is feeble, materialistic and shallow. Can she change her mind and if she does, will he still be available and want her?
