The Jewish Sabbath: A Book For Children
by Boruch Rappaport

A Children's Book on the Jewish Sabbath. Written for middle schoolers, ages 8-14 approximately, or for parents to read and explain to their children. I tried to keep it simple yet informative, talking about: When do the Jewish People observe the Sabbath, what does it mean to "observe the Sabbath", a portrayal of the Sabbath as a day for the family to be together and feast together, a discussion about the "forbidden labor" on the Sabbath, and a discussion about some of the special Sabbaths. The book is rich with pictures illustrating what the Sabbath looks like from the "inside".
