Dear Potential Reader: If you’re looking for a “War and Peace” reading experience, you’re in the wrong place. However, if you’d like to take a series of brief journeys (somewhere between cerebral and introspective, interspaced with witty and laugh out loud), then this is the book for you. It’s a great bathroom book, ideal for that environment, but it also works well at the beach, while traveling, just before bed, and on lazy Sunday afternoons. I can promise you two things in the process of reading this: you will find a chuckle or two that will burble up out of you uncontrollably and your day will be a little lighter because of it, and you will find a piece of yourself in the essays, whether it be a longing or a recollection of other times, people, and places, a recognition of qualities within you, or the unearthing of a few words strung together that simply ring so true they strike your very core. And, when it’s all said and done, you may discover a touch of the elements we find so valuable – faith, love, passion, or truth, embedded in you through the shear magic of literary osmosis.
