A Child’s Book of Dog Body Language with Pictures is a book intended to be read by an adult to a child. The adult can determine which portions or the entire book, is age appropriate. It is an educational book to help prevent possible dog bites, as well as helping children know how to treat a dog, in order to have good relationships with them.

Too often as parents, we simply don’t think about teaching safety issues concerning dogs, until there’s a situation happening. Usually that is not the time for teaching, but for action. Prevention can go a long way.

This book is one an adult can use for both a child who is perhaps fearful of dogs, and a child who is bold with dogs, but should learn more respect. There is a note to parents at the beginning of the book, asking especially that the book be read completely before reading to a child. Parents know the stages of their kids as well as the child’s temperament and history they've had with dogs. All these factors come into play when teaching about safety and dogs.

I've tried hard to try to make this as least frightening as possible, and to encourage healthy dog/child relationships. The book closes with some silly photos to end on a lighter note.
