Art of Motion: Balance of Champions
by Joseph Eilefson

Joseph Eilefson is the author and originator of Art of Motion. His innovative training changes the way athletes move and improves their play dramatically.

Joe noticed a similarity in the way Larry Bird and Wayne Gretzky moved. After studying their movements on videotape - frame by frame - Joe clearly saw that these athletes were “never falling.” Their steady state of balance gave them the vision, power and timing needed to make plays others couldn’t.

Joe observed that other players lost their balance when turning to the left or right. Instead of making a balanced weight transfer from leg to leg, most athletes would fall off one leg and catch themselves with their other leg. This momentary loss of balance defined their limitations as an athlete.

Art of Motion contains 39 photographs featuring Joe Montana, Larry Bird, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Bobby Orr. These still photographs, from videotape, capture these athletes at just the right angle to illustrate where their vision, power and timing came from.
