We started to write this book in July 2011 in Cape Town to tell our adventures of crossing Africa. We are a married couple from Austria, so our mother tongue is not English which will lead to some mistakes and grammatical incorrectness. We did not want to have a ghost writer, because the book would loose authenticity, so please excuse our language. We are Eric and Alexandra, 50 and 37 years old, by profession filmmaker and operation nurse and it was always our wish traveling through Africa. But we are not alone, with us is our cute dog Tara, a 11 year old Labrador breed, which of course joined us, we would never leave her back. Our book is a travel diary, where we tell our adventures, let you take part in a journey, which was not planned as it turned out later. We tell about our adventures with African tribes, our visits to National Parks and our experiences in traveling overland by car. Our car is an 10 year old camper van, only two wheel drive, with a self built interior to comfort our needs. This book is very personal, it is written from a certain point of view, our point of view, which is subjective of course and fully intended. We also provide you with hints and tricks, with valuable information on how to manage to cross Africa.
