A magic didgeridoo turns twin sisters Aurora and Harlow into Australian sand and ice sculptures who come to life in this children's fantasy novel, THE PIXIE AND THE SIREN.
On a study abroad, the girls unlock a spell and turn into two sculptures they were admiring on a beach, a fairy and a mermaid, while six other sculptures become their friends.
All endangered species, they are thrown into the Enchanted Illusion, a parallel universe, where the twins help a frazzled Mother Nature by becoming her makeup artists.
"Okay, Rors, you're gonna freak. I mean, there's no easy way to say this. So I'll just, um. Well uh. You got wings, girl!" Harlow says, trying out her new Aussie accent. She explodes into nervous laughter, not realizing that her mermaid tail is flopping around like a dog wagging its tail.
Bound to two different worlds, the Pixie lights up the rainforest using her secrets from the sun, while the Siren makes the ocean glow with her tricks from the moon. But when the world around them goes dark, what will be the one thing left shining?
The twins join forces to fight for their own existence, trying to save a forest from destruction, an ocean from captivity, and a world from broken dreams. Distracted by love, will they solve the Riddle of the 8th World Wonder and stay under this spell? Or will they be sent back to a past that they don't even remember?
