To HELL with the Scale

If you’re a female, you are probably most concerned with the size of your waist, arms and thighs. Once you’ve gotten yourself a diet written out, and a good exercise game plan, measure yourself on the first day of your training. Measure every two weeks thereafter.
True, lasting transformation takes time. With a few smart decisions and a month’s time, you’ll start to notice a difference in the way you feel. You’ll have lost a few pounds and maybe even a couple inches. In two month’s time, your family will start to notice the difference. In three month’s time, you’ll run into someone you haven’t seen in years and they’ll be asking you for all your secrets.
As long as you make good choices and keep your body moving, you will reach your goals. But, if you check your progress every day by looking in the mirror, you will disappoint yourself. The changes that occur within a 24-hour period are hardly visible. You won’t notice them, and that will lead you to negative self-talk and doubt, which will lead to a lack of progress, thus hitting a wall and going nowhere.
Fad Diets Don't Work
Everyone is looking for the easiest plan, the quickest way, and the shortest distance to their goals. Faster isn't necessarily better. For a lifetime of health and success, you've gotta discipline yourself each day to make good choices. Forget about trying to get skinny. Forget diet plans. Forget weight loss plans. Start thinking about building muscle. Start thinking less about a stinkin' number on a scale, and start thinking more about how you feel.
