King Of The Road Trip - Kindle Non-Fiction

King Of The Road Trip
by Bill Taylor

My name is Bill Taylor and I write a blog about taking road trips. The name of my blog is www.AmericaRoadTrip.net.

I conceived the title for the book from a favorite song of my which was sung by Roger Miller. The number one hit song was entitled "King of the Road." This song talked about a hobo who knew every boxcar and every town. If you spend enough time on the road ... you pick up some information that makes life enjoyable. That's what I hope to convey to you as you read this book.

"King Of The Road Trip" is about taking road trips in cars. We don't own an RV and we don't stay in timeshares. We take our road trips in our family car. We go on long trips of more than 2,000 miles and we go on day trips of less than 150 miles.

A good road trip is not determined by how far you travel, but by how well you enjoyed the experience. We have this saying "We don't count miles, we count smiles."

God blessed me with a wonderful wife who loves to travel as much as me. We have a permanent plan to go somewhere. We don't always know where, but we plan to go somewhere. Some of our trips are right here in Mississippi. Others take us out of state. The questions for us are only how much time and how much money we want to invest in this trip. It doesn't matter as much where we are going as it matters who we are with and what activities we plan.

Bill is an avid road trip enthusiast and has driven over two million miles on personal, business and family road trips. His experience spans more than fifty years and has taken him from coast to coast and from sea to shining sea. You will enjoy his easy, comfortable, personal style of writing.

Bill is a semi-retired Baptist Pastor. He has been a bi-vocational pastor for most of his adult life and his secular work required him to do a lot of travel.

"King of the Road Trip" gives tips on planning, packing and preparing for road trips which he learned on his extensive travel.

Many people are reluctant to take road trips in cars. They have phobias, or fears about travel. This book helps these people overcome their fears and launch into the great adventure of road trip travelling for the fun of it. The lessons he has learned and carefully shares will be helpful to every road tripper.
This is a fun book to read. Although the intent is to share helpful information, the personality of the author lets you feel as if you are in a private conversation with him.

In the opening chapters, Bill tells how he faced and overcame some of his childhood fears. These principles are then applied to road trip travel. This entire segment is done in a storytelling mode which will not insult adults, but which children could helpfully read.
A personal note from the author ...

It is my prayer that you will be helped and encouraged to see and enjoy the beauty of America. I hope my love for road trips is contagious and you catch a big case of love for the road. I love to travel in an automobile with folks I love beside me. If this book makes your life richer and fuller in any manner, I have been a success.

Thanks for taking some of your valuable time to read this book. I hope it will be helpful, enjoyable and even encouraging. If I manage to do all of that ... at the end of the book you will say "I didn't count the pages, I counted the smiles."
